Steps
1. Prepare the Surface
The first step is to prepare the surface of the car by sanding it down with 120-grit sandpaper. This will help to remove any rust or old paint and create a smooth surface for the bondo to adhere to.
2. Apply Bondo
Once the surface is prepared, you can apply bondo to fill in any dents or scratches. Use a bondo spreader to apply the bondo evenly, and then smooth it out with a sanding block.
3. Sand the Bondo
Once the bondo has dried, you can sand it down to create a smooth surface. Start with 120-grit sandpaper and gradually move to finer grits until the surface is smooth to the touch.
4. Prime the Surface
Once the bondo is sanded, you can prime the surface to help the paint adhere to it. Apply a thin coat of primer and let it dry completely.
5. Paint the Surface
Once the primer has dried, you can paint the surface. Use a paint sprayer to apply a thin coat of paint and let it dry completely.
6. Clear Coat the Surface
Once the paint has dried, you can apply a clear coat to protect it from the elements. Apply a thin coat of clear coat and let it dry completely.
7. Sand and Polish the Surface
Once the clear coat has dried, you can sand and polish the surface to bring out the shine. Start with 1200-grit sandpaper and gradually move to finer grits until the surface is smooth and shiny.
8. Wax the Surface
The final step is to wax the surface to protect it from the elements and keep it looking its best.
