How to Repair Small Dent on Car Body with Water
Materials you will need:
- A kettle of boiling water
- A plunger or suction cup
- A clean cloth
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Clean the dented area. Use a clean cloth to remove any dirt or debris from the dented area.
- Boil water. Fill a kettle with water and bring it to a boil.
- Pour boiling water over the dent. Slowly pour the boiling water over the dented area. Be careful not to pour the water directly on the paint, as this could damage it.
- Wait for the water to cool. Allow the water to cool for a few minutes. This will help to soften the metal and make it more pliable.
- Use a plunger or suction cup to pull out the dent. If the dent is small, you can use a plunger to pull it out. If the dent is larger, you can use a suction cup. Place the plunger or suction cup over the dent and pull it towards you. You may need to repeat this step several times until the dent is pulled out.
- Wipe the area clean. Use a clean cloth to wipe away any remaining water from the dented area.
Tips:
- This method will only work on small dents. If the dent is large or has sharp edges, you will need to use a different method to repair it.
- Be careful not to pour the boiling water directly on the paint, as this could damage it.
- If you are using a plunger, be sure to use a plunger with a large enough diameter to cover the dent.
- If you are using a suction cup, be sure to use a suction cup with a strong enough suction to pull out the dent.
- If you are unable to pull out the dent using a plunger or suction cup, you may need to take your car to a body shop to have it repaired.
