Materials You’ll Need

  • Dent puller
  • Hot glue gun
  • Glue sticks
  • Plunger
  • Hair dryer
  • Sandpaper
  • Bondo
  • Body filler
  • Primer
  • Paint

Instructions

  1. Clean the dent. Use a damp cloth to clean the dent and remove any dirt or debris. Allow the dent to dry completely.
  2. Apply hot glue to the dent. Use a hot glue gun to apply a thin layer of hot glue to the center of the dent. Allow the glue to cool slightly.
  3. Attach the dent puller. Center the dent puller over the glue and press down firmly. The dent puller will adhere to the glue and create a suction seal.
  4. Pull the dent out. Slowly and gently pull the dent puller towards you. As you pull, the dent will begin to pop out. Continue pulling until the dent is no longer visible.
  5. Remove the dent puller. Once the dent is out, carefully remove the dent puller. Be careful not to damage the paint.
  6. Sand the area. Use sandpaper to smooth the area around the dent. Start with a coarse sandpaper and gradually work your way up to a fine sandpaper.
  7. Apply body filler. Apply body filler to the area around the dent. Use a putty knife to spread the body filler evenly. Allow the body filler to dry completely.
  8. Sand the area again. Once the body filler is dry, sand the area again to smooth it out. Start with a coarse sandpaper and gradually work your way up to a fine sandpaper.
  9. Prime the area. Apply primer to the area around the dent. Allow the primer to dry completely.
  10. Paint the area. Apply paint to the area around the dent. Allow the paint to dry completely.

Tips

  • If the dent is large or deep, you may need to use a plunger to help pull it out.
  • If the dent is on a curved surface, you may need to use a hair dryer to heat the metal and make it more pliable.
  • Be patient and take your time. Filling dents can be a time-consuming process, but it’s worth it to get a professional-looking result.
