How to Paint an RC Car Body from Tenergy
Materials
- RC car body
- Sandpaper (120-grit, 220-grit)
- Primer
- Paint
- Clear coat
- Masking tape
- Paper towels
Instructions
1. Prepare the RC Car Body
Start by sanding the RC car body with 120-grit sandpaper to remove any dirt or debris. Once the body is sanded, rinse it off with water and let it dry completely.
2. Apply Primer
Once the body is dry, apply a coat of primer. Primer helps the paint to adhere to the body and gives it a smooth surface to paint on. Let the primer dry completely before moving on to the next step.
3. Apply Paint
Now you can start painting the body. Use a light, even coat of paint and let it dry completely before applying a second coat. If you are using multiple colors, be sure to mask off the areas that you do not want to paint.
4. Apply Clear Coat
Once the paint is dry, apply a coat of clear coat. Clear coat protects the paint from scratches and weathering. Let the clear coat dry completely before handling the body.
5. Remove Masking Tape
Once the clear coat is dry, you can remove the masking tape. Be careful not to scratch the paint when removing the tape.
6. Finish the Body
Once the masking tape is removed, the body is finished. You can now install the body on your RC car and enjoy the new look.
Tips
- Use a spray gun for a more even finish.
- Let each coat of paint dry completely before applying the next coat.
- Avoid painting in direct sunlight or in windy conditions.
- If you make a mistake, don’t worry. You can always sand off the paint and start over.
