How to Remove Dealer Sticker from Car Body
Materials you’ll need:
- Hairdryer
- Plastic scraper or credit card
- Goo Gone or other adhesive remover
- Microfiber cloth
Instructions:
- Heat the sticker with a hairdryer. This will loosen the adhesive and make it easier to remove. Heat the sticker for a few minutes, until it is warm to the touch.
- Use a plastic scraper or credit card to carefully peel off the sticker. Start at a corner of the sticker and slowly peel it away from the car body. Be careful not to scratch the paint.
- If there is any adhesive residue left on the car body, use Goo Gone or another adhesive remover to remove it. Apply the adhesive remover to a microfiber cloth and gently rub it over the residue. Rinse the area with water and dry it with a clean microfiber cloth.
Tips:
- If the sticker is particularly stubborn, you may need to heat it for longer or use a stronger adhesive remover.
- Be patient and take your time when removing the sticker. Rushing the process could damage the paint.
- If you are removing a large sticker, it may be helpful to cut it into smaller pieces before you start peeling it off.
- Once the sticker is removed, you may want to wax the area to protect the paint.
Warnings:
- Do not use a sharp object to remove the sticker, as this could scratch the paint.
- Do not use acetone or other harsh chemicals to remove the sticker, as this could damage the paint.
- If you are not comfortable removing the sticker yourself, you can take your car to a professional detailer.
