How to Remove Dealer Sticker from Car Body

Materials you’ll need:

  • Hairdryer
  • Plastic scraper or credit card
  • Goo Gone or other adhesive remover
  • Microfiber cloth

Instructions:

  1. Heat the sticker with a hairdryer. This will loosen the adhesive and make it easier to remove. Heat the sticker for a few minutes, until it is warm to the touch.
  2. Use a plastic scraper or credit card to carefully peel off the sticker. Start at a corner of the sticker and slowly peel it away from the car body. Be careful not to scratch the paint.
  3. If there is any adhesive residue left on the car body, use Goo Gone or another adhesive remover to remove it. Apply the adhesive remover to a microfiber cloth and gently rub it over the residue. Rinse the area with water and dry it with a clean microfiber cloth.

Tips:

  • If the sticker is particularly stubborn, you may need to heat it for longer or use a stronger adhesive remover.
  • Be patient and take your time when removing the sticker. Rushing the process could damage the paint.
  • If you are removing a large sticker, it may be helpful to cut it into smaller pieces before you start peeling it off.
  • Once the sticker is removed, you may want to wax the area to protect the paint.

Warnings:

  • Do not use a sharp object to remove the sticker, as this could scratch the paint.
  • Do not use acetone or other harsh chemicals to remove the sticker, as this could damage the paint.
  • If you are not comfortable removing the sticker yourself, you can take your car to a professional detailer.
