How to Remove Window Marker from Car Body
Materials You’ll Need
- Rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover
- Cotton balls or a soft cloth
- Water
- Wax (optional)
Instructions
- Test the solution in an inconspicuous area. Before applying the rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover to the entire area, test it in an inconspicuous area to make sure it doesn’t damage the paint.
- Apply the solution to the window marker. Using a cotton ball or a soft cloth, apply the rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover to the window marker. Let it sit for a few minutes to soften the ink.
- Wipe away the window marker. Once the ink has softened, use a clean cotton ball or a soft cloth to wipe away the window marker. Be gentle, so you don’t scratch the paint.
- Rinse the area with water. Once you have removed the window marker, rinse the area with water to remove any residue from the rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover.
- Wax the area (optional). To protect the paint, you can apply a coat of wax to the area where you removed the window marker.
Tips
- If the window marker is still not removed after following the steps above, you can try using a commercial window marker remover.
- Be careful not to use too much rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover, as this could damage the paint.
- Always test the solution in an inconspicuous area first to make sure it doesn’t damage the paint.
