Spray Painting RC Car Body
Materials you will need
- Sandpaper (180-grit, 220-grit, and 400-grit)
- Primer
- Paint
- Clear coat
- Sanding block
- Masking tape

Step-by-step guide
1. Sand the body
The first step is to sand the body to remove any imperfections and smooth out the surface. Start with 180-grit sandpaper and work your way up to 400-grit sandpaper. Be sure to sand in a circular motion and avoid applying too much pressure.
2. Apply primer
Once the body is sanded, it’s time to apply primer. Primer helps to create a smooth surface for the paint to adhere to and also helps to protect the body from the elements. Apply primer in thin, even coats, and allow it to dry completely before sanding it with 400-grit sandpaper.
3. Paint the body
Now it’s time to apply the paint. Choose a paint color that you like and apply it in thin, even coats. Allow each coat to dry completely before applying the next coat.
4. Apply clear coat
Once the paint is dry, it’s time to apply clear coat. Clear coat helps to protect the paint from scratches and UV damage. Apply clear coat in thin, even coats, and allow it to dry completely.
5. Sand and buff the body
Once the clear coat is dry, it’s time to sand and buff the body to achieve a smooth, glossy finish. Start with 1000-grit sandpaper and work your way up to 2000-grit sandpaper. Then, use a buffing compound and a buffing wheel to bring out the shine.
