Car Kiosk: 2013 VW Tiguan Transmission Fluid
When to Change the Transmission Fluid
The transmission fluid in your 2013 VW Tiguan should be changed every 40,000 miles. This is according to the manufacturer’s recommended maintenance schedule. However, you may need to change the fluid more often if you drive in severe conditions, such as:
* Towing heavy loads
* Driving in stop-and-go traffic
* Driving in dusty or muddy conditions
If you’re not sure whether or not your transmission fluid needs to be changed, you can check the fluid level and condition yourself. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Park your car on a level surface.
2. Shift the transmission into park.
3. Open the hood and locate the transmission fluid dipstick.
4. Pull the dipstick out and wipe it clean with a rag.
5. Reinsert the dipstick into the transmission and pull it out again.
6. Check the fluid level on the dipstick. The fluid level should be between the “min” and “max” marks on the dipstick.
7. Inspect the fluid for any signs of contamination. The fluid should be red or pink in color and free of any debris.
If the fluid level is low or the fluid is contaminated, you should change the transmission fluid as soon as possible.
