Input Shaft

Gears

Clutch

The clutch is a component of the transmission that allows the driver to engage and disengage the transmission. When the clutch is engaged, the input shaft is connected to the counter shaft, and power can flow from the engine to the wheels.

When the clutch is disengaged, the input shaft is disconnected from the counter shaft, and power cannot flow from the engine to the wheels.
