Instructions
- Create a mold of the car body you want to make. This can be done by taking a mold of an existing car body or by creating a mold from scratch.
- Apply a layer of mold release wax to the mold.
- Mix the fiberglass resin and fiberglass mat together according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Apply the fiberglass mixture to the mold and smooth it out with a brush or roller.
- Allow the fiberglass to cure for the amount of time specified by the manufacturer.
- Once the fiberglass has cured, remove it from the mold.
- Sand the fiberglass body to smooth out any rough edges.
- Apply a layer of Bondo to the fiberglass body and smooth it out with a Bondo spreader.
- Allow the Bondo to dry for the amount of time specified by the manufacturer.
- Sand the Bondo to smooth it out.
- Apply a layer of primer to the body and allow it to dry for the amount of time specified by the manufacturer.
- Sand the primer to smooth it out.
- Apply a layer of paint to the body and allow it to dry for the amount of time specified by the manufacturer.
Tips
- Wear gloves and a respirator when working with fiberglass.
- Allow the fiberglass to cure completely before removing it from the mold.
- Sand the fiberglass, Bondo, and primer thoroughly before painting.
- Use a high-quality paint and primer for the best results.
