Materials and Tools

  • Socket wrench set

Safety Precautions

  1. Park the car on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  2. Place the car ramps in front of the wheels.
  3. Jack up the car and place the jack stands under the designated jack points.
  4. Wear safety glasses and gloves.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Disconnect the Battery

  1. Locate the battery in the engine bay.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal using a wrench.

2. Remove the Hood and Fenders

  1. Open the hood and locate the hood latch.
  2. Release the hood latch and lift the hood up.
  3. Remove the bolts holding the hood in place.
  4. Carefully lift the hood off the car.
  5. Remove the bolts holding the fenders in place.
  6. Gently pull the fenders off the car.

3. Disconnect the Electrical and Fuel Lines

  1. Locate the electrical and fuel lines running from the body to the chassis.
  2. Carefully disconnect the electrical connectors.
  3. Use a wrench to disconnect the fuel lines.

4. Remove the Doors and Trunk

5. Remove the Suspension

  2. Have an assistant help you lift the body off the chassis.
  3. Place the body on a stable surface.
